Command Master Chief


CMDCM(AW/SW/SS) Jewett enlisted in March 1986. He completed Basic Training, Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Fire Control Technician &A& and &C& school in December 1987. He graduated from the U.S. Navy Senior Academy in Newport, Rhode Island in May of 2002. In November 2005 he completed the Command Master Chief and Chief of the Boat course. He has an Associate's degree in Applied Science from Thomas A. Edison State College in New Jersey.

Master Chief Jewett served aboard the USS GUITARRO (SSN 665), the USS PARCHE (SSN 683), and the USS NEVADA (SSBN 733)(GOLD) as the Chief of the Boat. During his career he completed a total of two Western Pacific deployments, two Northern Pacific deployments, one Southern deployment, four CNO Special Project deployments and five Strategic Patrols.

Ashore, Master Chief Jewett served as the Submarine Squadron THREE Staff Fire Control Technician in San Diego, California, Submarine Development Squadron Five Staff Fire Control Technician in Bangor, Washington. His Command Master Chief tours include Naval Submarine Support Center, Commander Submarine Squadron Seventeen, Joint Crew Composite Squadron One in Baghdad, Iraq and his present job USS JOHN C. STENNIS (CVN 74).

Master Chief Jewett's personal awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Achievement Medal (four awards) and various service and campaign awards.
